This vacancy is for a GS - 1105 - 7, Purchasing Agent located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION-INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY SOUTH PORTLAND ME in SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine.
You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for procuring a wide range of supplies, equipment, services, repairs, and construction in support of U.S. Coast Guard industrial operations and mission requirements.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviews and evaluates procurement requests to ensure acquisitions of supplies, services, and construction comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies. Prepares solicitations, supporting documentation, contract modifications, purchase orders, and award packages. Prioritizes procurement actions based on operational requirements and coordinates with vendors, technical personnel, financial personnel, and other government agencies. Performs post-award contract administration. Administers purchases involving technical and professional services, communications, supplies, construction, and ship and dockside repairs. Assists with administration and reconciliation of the Government Purchase Card Program. Serves as a technical expert and advisor on purchasing policies, procedures, documentation, and procurement requirements.
