Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-1105-7/8/9, Purchasing Agent located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ALC CHIEF OF CONTRACTING OFFICE -COCO in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and will be responsible for purchasing, renting or leasing complex supplies, services, and equipment related to the maintenance, overhaul and repair of assigned aircraft acquired through the use of simplified purchases and contracting procedures (informal open-market and/or formal competitive bids). Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Assuring small purchase actions comply with the legal and technical requirements of law and statutes. Analyzing all procurement requests for adequacy, completeness, clarity, and funding. Preparing solicitations to comply with regulations and ensuring that the requirements for adequate competition are satisfied. Monitoring contract administration until final delivery and payment are completed and the contract is closed and retired.

Resolving disputes/protests between contractors and ALC.
