Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-1105-7, Purchasing Agent located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE NEW ORLEANS PROCUREMENT and CONTRACTING DEPARTMENT -S in NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for procurement to support Industrial Production Facility and the Areas of Responsibility (AOR) for the acquisition of supplies, services, or emergency response to procure commodities and service requirements. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Acquisition of supplies, services, or emergency response to procure any commodity/service..

Acquiring wide range of noncomplex services, supplies, and equipment subject to simplified acquisition regulations. Negotiating and awarding purchases that may involve complexities such as professional/technical service orders that consider past performance and/or technical capabilities. Monitoring progress and status of orders and protects the government's rights by enforcing all terms and conditions.

Making final determinations on such items as partial payments and final payments, contractor's compliance with contract clauses, price and delivery adjustments.
