About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Columbus AFB ODR/ITT located within the 14 FSS Flying Training Wing Columbus AFB. FLEX employees are guaranteed 0 hours but may work up to 40 per week. FLEX employees are not eligible for leave/benefits.
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., are not simply manual labor assignments); inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order.
