About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 27SOFSS Outdoor Recreation Department. This Position is regular part time, and is a drug testing position. Applicant will be asked to provide a copy of their driving records
Incumbent plans, directs, and manages the Outdoor Adventure Program. Responsible for planning, scheduling, developing and arranging support services for ongoing outdoor adventure programs/activities to include, but not limited to: snow-skiing, water- skiing, wilderness backpacking, hiking, camping, mountain biking/cycling, white water rafting, rock climbing and high ropes courses.
Responsible for ensuring the programs/activities are carried out safely and without any problems. Provides instruction on different programs/activities; although instruction may be provided by an instructor with specific specialized training. Sets bindings on rental and customer skis and snowboards. Enforces safety policies and procedures. Develops and writes articles to be published explaining outdoor adventure programs and specific programs/activities.
Briefs outdoor adventure programs at various functions on base, i.e. squadron commander calls, etc. Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests for special programs/activities. Operates cash register, rings up sales, receives money and makes change. Responsible for preparing financial paperwork to include budgets and reports to the Outdoor Recreation Director.
Drives 15 passenger van or bus to and from various outdoor adventure programs both on and off the installation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Works uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights and weekends. This is a designated dmg testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
