Key Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works as a Recreation Assistant (Ski Instructor) at the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort (EL&R), Hausberg Lodge instructing groups and individuals in daily and weekly ski and snowboard programs, using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults. Teaches all courses using the PSIA American Teaching system.

The safety of the students must always be the number one priority. Is responsible for ticket handling for groups of students and must maintain good internal control practices to keep track of these tickets. Assists with program registration, tournaments, equipment issue, ski lift and snow making operations, shuttle driving duties, and cleaning duties.

Must be familiar with all programs offered by EL&R, as well as be familiar with the local area as the job requires providing a lot of information to guests. Must always maintain a positive attitude around and towards guests in order to project a positive image for EL&R and it's programs. Report any problems to the Ski School director as soon as possible to maintain a high-quality service to our guests. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Education

High School graduate or equivalent. All candidates (to include current employees) are required to include transcripts with their application package. Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating. Only education from accredited and pre-accredited institutions will be accepted.
