You will serve as a Recreation Fee Technician with National Park Service, Cabrillo National Monument. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of technically challenging duties associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under the authority of Federal laws and regulations
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the National Park Service, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including Cabrillo National Monument interpretive activities, hiking trails, etc. Distribute maps and brochures, inform visitors of potential safety hazards, and provide directions. Review and verify the functionality of new fee related systems or modifications to existing systems as a result of regulatory and program requirements. Review and verify the accuracy of manuals and/or standard operating procedures for the implementation of new and existing system designs and/or modifications. Provide informal and formal training and education to employees, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc. Track and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment and supplies.
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
