The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare Systems is currently recruiting for a Recreation Therapist within the Recreation Therapy Service. In this role, the incumbent will provide therapeutic care and rehabilitation to Veterans facing complex medical and mental health challenges.
The Recreation Therapist duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting patient evaluations. Analyzing assessment data to develop individual goals, objectives, and treatment plan of care. Reviewing patient progress and needs for additional, alternative, or termination of service. Assisting in providing learning experience for Recreation Therapy clinical interns as needed. Developing and providing collaborative services with other team members. Documenting patient's behavioral observations, progress, functioning, and intervention outcomes. Providing direct patient care and receive guidance from higher-level or supervisory staff members for only most complex patients and require only general supervision. Reviewing recreation therapy consults and conduct comprehensive evaluations. Based upon the assessment data and in collaboration with other stakeholders, the therapist develops individualized treatment plans with measurable therapeutic goals and objectives including scope, duration and practice. Work Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday, 8:00am-4:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm, Rotating holidays Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
