SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This position serves as a Regional Operations Planner within Marine Corps Community Services, Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. This position serves in both the current and future operations section to enable comprehensive near, mid and long-term planning.
This position is responsible for comprehensive long-range planning, development, and management of complex, multi-disciplinary projects across four geographically dispersed Installations while coordinating with additional adjacent Installations for Regional matters. This position routinely coordinates efforts on behalf of MCCS, MCIWEST with Headquarters Marine Corps (MR/MF and MCICOM).
This position routinely coordinates, plans and implements various initiatives in partnership with adjacent staff sections, Major Subordinate Commands, Installations and MCCS Divisions and oversees projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring alignment with installation master plans, regional strategic goals, and budgetary constraints.
Acts as an MCCS expert and advisor to the MCCS Regional Operations Officer and Deputy AC/S on technical and operational matters while ensuring detailed, effective and well-designed planning efforts across all lines of effort. This position regularly attends meetings on behalf of MCCS, MCIWEST focused on MCCS operations, planning and support coordination efforts while ensuring effective efforts within current/future operations.
This position applies analytical and project managements expertise to plan, coordinate and execute regionally significant initiatives while integrating input across all MCCS functional areas and Installations. This position ensures appropriate progress, objectives and requirements are met. This position develops comprehensive briefs while preparing for and briefing MCCS issues across a myriad of functional areas.
This position serves as a key planner in areas representing MCCS MCIWEST in special events, large scale efforts and visits. Coordinates with MCCS Divisions, Installation staff and external entities to ensure compliance and mission alignment. Plans and coordinates current operations in support of special events, ceremonies, and command support efforts. Participates as a key member of the Regional Defense Operations Center (RDOC) and member of the Crisis Action Team (CAT).
This position serves as a primary liaison between MCCS MCIWEST Installations and internal/external stakeholders. Prepares and delivers briefings to senior leadership. Participates and serves as the primary contact for coordination of cross-functional working groups, operational planning teams, conferences and training events. Contributes to the development of a 5¿10-year strategic plan supporting revenue generation, programmatic delivery and event coordination.
This position encompasses the overall execution of highly visible MCCS Regional programming and support through the implementation of goals and objectives. This position serves as a primary planner for coordination of functionality assessments and other high-level visits to both the Installation and Region. This position provides weekly MCCS operations updates to the Regional Operations Officer and Deputy AC/S on all current/future operations requirements.
This position assists with the coordination of operations with and in support of MCCS activities at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Additional coordination efforts and responses to taskers as needed with Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and the Service Level Training Installations (SLTI) as required.
Coordinates across the Installations and with all commands to enable highly effective, responsive and timely MCCS support across the full spectrum of the MCCS capabilities. Coordinates staff actions impacting MCCS across and with all MCIWEST-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton staff sections at the regional level along with other adjacent and supported units.
Through interpretation of directives from higher authority, research, interviews, analysis and evaluation, makes recommendations for implementing decisions on improving the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, organizations, planning and establishing organizational goals and objectives through information management and administrative processes.
Ensure highly effective coordination to achieve unity of effort to enable MCCS goals, objectives and mission success through the coordinated efforts of ten Divisions supporting five Installations directly within the MCIWEST area along with support as needed to the SLTI¿s.
