The Cardiac Cath Lab Register Nurse delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic cardiolgy procedures including both inpatient and outpatient. Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and pre/post-procedure care, and documents responses to interventions, findings, and reports any changes.
The Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse (CCL) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based procedural care to assigned patients and oversight of staff, including but not limited to licensed vocational/practical nurses and/or health technicians/nursing assistants, as appropriate in the pre/post procedural setting. Provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching.
Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies, and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic cardiology procedures including both inpatients and outpatients.
Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and pre/post-procedural care, and document response to interventions, findings, and report and changes. Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum, including the Veteran's goals of care.
