The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Clinical Procedures Clinic team. This RN is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on age-specific needs.
The RN coordinates care with a focus on education, self-management, and satisfaction, administering treatments and collaborating to improve patient outcomes.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates leadership and expertise in managing complex procedural care within a dynamic clinical setting. Coordinates patient care across the continuum, emphasizing smooth transitions, discharge planning, and self-management. Delivers and manages care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
Performs comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, educates patients and families, and ensures post-procedural care compliance. Documents interventions, patient responses, and communicates clinical findings to the healthcare team. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to align patient care with the Veteran's goals and overall treatment plan. Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines based on evidence-based practice.
Provides peer feedback and fosters a professional environment that supports continuous learning and development. Evaluates and documents program or service-level outcomes that reflect broad, complex contributions to the organization. Assumes multiple roles including procedure assistance, pre-op and post-op patient care, and emergency response. Maintains proficiency in cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of endoscopy-specific equipment.
Adapts to shifting priorities, including participating in the on-call schedule and responding per facility protocols.
