This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Partners with the resident, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum. Integrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations.
Validates understanding of the rationale for care processes and decisions. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. Demonstrates competence in practice and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. Collaborates with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator to ensure accuracy of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score.
Supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
