This Registered Nurse (RN) Informaticist position is located within the Community Living Center at the St Cloud VA Medical Center. The RN Informaticist is responsible for planning, integrating, implementing, modifying and evaluating the effectiveness of the Veteran's care. The RN will serve as a liaison to both internal and external providers, to support the delivery of high qualify, timely care to Veteran's.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Participates in local activities relating to the planning, development, and implementation of informatics. Communicates Health Informatics issues with the Chief Health Informatics Officer and other stakeholders. Collaborates with the St. Cloud VA Health Informatics department in supporting the organization's mission and vision.
Assists with the implementation and integration of evidence-based practice, clinical practice models, health practice patterns and related activities in the mutual development and achievement of organizational goals. Evaluates and/or designs activities that support information technology, clinical application development, and implementation and ongoing monitoring of clinical information systems as assigned.
Resolves issues and employs a range of informatics functions to include business process and workflow optimization, training and education, content management, and addresses barriers to workflow and system adoption. Develops policies for local informatics processes. Improves care delivery and outcomes by supporting the development, implementation, evaluation, monitoring, and maintenance of clinical decision support and health practice patterns.
Analyzes existing health processes and identifies ways health data and health practice patterns can enable improved outcomes by supporting innovation through informatics tools and processes. Effectively creates, integrates, disseminates, and manages data for enterprise applications, processes and entities requiring timely and accurate data delivery.
Evaluates content quality and ensures access to knowledge resources, eliminating redundancy in data sources, and improving information interoperability across the organization.
