Demonstrates competence of the following core informatics functions to include content management, application support, health information technology system optimization, enterprise data management, business architecture management, partnership management, requirements management, and change management.
The duties include but are not limited to: The Registered Nurse proficiently manages in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications. The lnformaticist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network.
They work closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide. The lnformaticist will assist in directing the provision of education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization. Independently identifies expected outcomes as measurable informatics goals.
Utilizes specific evidence-based actions and steps specific to the identified problem to achieve defined outcomes. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own nursing informatics judgements and actions, recognizing and addressing ethical concerns. Demonstrates knowledge over a wide range of job responsibilities, effectively communicating with individuals and groups to build a strong sense of teamwork.
Shares knowledge and learning opportunities that enhance current nursing informatics practice for self and others.
