Job Summary

The Inpatient Registered Nurse will be working at The Veteran Affairs Maryland Healthcare System located in Baltimore, Maryland. The individual selected for this role will need to demonstrate proficiency in their practice, which should be grounded in conscious and deliberate planning to ensure the highest level of patient care. Additionally, the nurse will be expected to carry out all other duties as assigned, supporting the facility's commitment to excellence in service.

The Nurse I Level I- III Inpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Administers medications and procedures per established polices and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments.

Seeks guidance in how to improve care provided to patients and families Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.

Partners with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum. The nurse integrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgement and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.

The Nurse II Inpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with other's. Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.

Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. The nurse will be expected to carry out all other duties as assigned, The Nurse III Inpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Executes position responsibilities that demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care.

Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and / or guidelines. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement.
