Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Manager (Peri-Operative) functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care within the Nursing, Peri- Operative Unit. NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this position. For more information, refer to Required Documents below.

Key Responsibilities

The Peri-operative Nurse Manager (NM) is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the operation of assigned unit. The NM is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.

Other responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: Leads the provision of nursing care to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.

Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Demonstrates core elements of performance to include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.

Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Leads patient care improvement through monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating care outcomes in the immediate practice setting Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and create innovative process improvement initiatives.

Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
