Job Summary

The Registered Nurse(RN) will demonstrate proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.

Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to: The Nurse Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based outpatient care to patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting.

Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of patient care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization.

This nurse integrates outpatient knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations. Validates understanding of the rationale for care processes and decisions. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities.

The nurse demonstrates competence in outpatient practice and decision­ making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. The incumbent is responsible to the assigned rating and approving supervisors and is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS). Also: 1. Independently plans and delivers technically competent care to patients with complex needs in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. 2.

Manages the care of patients, while organizing and prioritizing patient care needs, and ensuring assigned tasks are completed. 3. Functions as an emerging leader in providing direction to staff to identify, implement and evaluate patient care needs. 4. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the plan of care is achieved.
