This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. The Registered Nurse-Outpatient Mental Health duties include but are not limited to: Provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintain self-awareness while caring for patients living with MH conditions. Actively participate in care coordination, liaising with inpatient Mental Health units to support continuity of care; engage in interdisciplinary treatment team huddles and meetings; and respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies as directed. Report and address safety concerns, document nursing triage assessments, risk screens, clinical reminders, and patient plan of care, according to facility policy. Facilitate warm hand-offs, nurse-led psychoeducational groups; use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, utilize recovery-oriented language, and provide Veterans, their family members, and/or significant others with education regarding their illness, medications, and treatment plan.
