The Program Manager RN executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership skills and participates in specific program experiences. Demonstrates performance and leadership skills that start to impact the standard of care and safety of staff while caring for all patients throughout the continuum of care and creative approaches to the management of program aspects of complex patient care. Position works in the interfacility transfer center and leads patient throughput in the RLRVAMC
Duties include but are not limited to: Leading a facility wide program for all services within the organization that meets the requirements for National Directives. Oversee the provision of staff education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement consultation related to the program. Evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Participates in activities and strategies to sustain an evidence-based-practice culture. Evaluates the program, collecting and submitting facility performance measures. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
