Job Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment (sign-on bonus) or Relocation Incentive of up to $10,000 may be authorized for a Highly Qualified candidate. Duties of the Registered Nurse - Resource Float Pool include, but are not limited to: Provides competent, evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring best practices and optimal patient outcomes.

Oversees and supports licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants in the delivery of patient care, ensuring adherence to standards and protocols. Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competency validation, and provides consultation on quality improvement and outcomes utilization activities.

Demonstrates leadership in the delivery and continuous improvement of holistic patient care through collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Continuously evaluates nursing practice and care delivery, implementing changes based on the latest evidence and best practices. Fosters a safe and supportive environment that promotes the professional development and competency of nursing and healthcare staff.

Actively contributes the professional nursing perspective during interdisciplinary team discussions to facilitate effective patient-centered care planning. Supports a culture of safe, high-quality nursing care by sharing knowledge, providing constructive peer feedback, questioning clinical practices, and participating in activities that promote evidence-based practice.
