The Fargo VA Health Care System is seeking a Registered Nurse to be a part of our Resource Team with our Acute Care Service Line. This position will float throughout our inpatient units to provide care for our Veterans. This is an open continuous announcement and will remain open until 12/31/2026 or until position is filled. The initial cut-off date for referrals will be 10-8-2026.

Administer medications and perform procedures per policy and guidelines, ensuring safety, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols. Coordinate care and patient education, promoting self-management and continuity of care to optimize the Veteran/patient experience and outcomes. Supervise, delegate, and provide oversight to LVNs/LPNs and Nursing Assistants as appropriate to the care setting, ensuring safe, quality practice.
Demonstrate leadership by contributing to interdisciplinary care planning, supporting team communication, and influencing care outcomes through effective collaboration. Advocate for Veterans, families, and caregivers, resolving care-experience issues (e.g., coordination, timeliness, environment of care) and addressing ethical concerns.
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing education, orientation, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives. Promote a safe, supportive learning environment by sharing knowledge, providing informal peer feedback, and fostering professional growth among healthcare team members. Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and staffing needs while maintaining high standards of clinical practice and customer service.
Work Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, rotating to include holidays and weekends; straight nights 7:00p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 6-12 hour shift and one 8 hour shift, exact schedules will be discussed during the interview.
