The Registered Nurse (RN) - Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Resident is responsible for focusing on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. The new graduate nurse is expected to bring principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. The RNTTP Program Resident will serve in this role over the course of a 12-month period.
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Resident is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Even though the incumbent will be focused on individual growth and development, the person in this role will still assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
The RN - TTP Program Resident is also responsible for the following duties: Delivering fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on age-specific components. Administering medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Participating in unit based educational activities and continuing education requirements.
Managing workload as assigned, organizing, and completing own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner. Working with close supervision, being responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice, and seeking direction from others as needed. Other duties, as assigned.
