The Canandaigua VAMC offers an exciting program for new graduate RNs! This position is for recent Diploma, ADN, BSN, and MSN graduates in their first licensed RN role or with less than one (1) year of professional RN experience. Only candidates meeting this criterion will be referred. The RNTTP Program focuses on individual growth with increased self-direction, helping new nurses build critical thinking skills through structured mentorship and progressive clinical exposure.
The RNTTP program is a comprehensive developmental training program designed to assist the post-graduate nurse or nurse with less than one year of experience in the transition from entry level, advanced beginner nurse to competent professional RN. The program consists of a 12-month standardized curriculum focused on refinement of graduate nurse clinical competencies, and development of professional nursing roles and leadership characteristics.
The RN TTP Resident demonstrates proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care based on patient education, self management, and customer satisfaction. Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
