Might be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Major Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.
Evaluates patients in the CLC upon admission to Restorative Care Program and monthly thereafter to determine the potential for the program. Responsible for screening Veterans and conducting initial assessment prior to admission to the Restorative Care Program.
Collaborates with educators, Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT) in recruiting and admitting patients to the Restorative Care Program and develops goals to maximize the patient's independence and functioning. Completes the restorative nursing sections of the Minimum Data Set (MOS), specifically the observation period, quarterly reassessments, and significant changes in care.
Monitors assignments to ensure they are appropriate with the level of education and training demonstrated of restorative personnel. Accountable to develop and implement educational programs and/or in-services to keep nursing staff current in restorative care practice and documented competencies. Responsible for the outcomes of the patient/client as measured by the MDS quality indicators, which is shared with the multidisciplinary team.
This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments. All other duties as assigned.
