Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is a Joint Commissioned accredited Level 1c complexity that consists of a 61-bed hospital located in Muskogee as well as six community based outpatient clinics located in Tulsa, Bartlesville, Claremore, Vinita, McAlester and Idabel.
In 2021, Congress approved federal funding for a new Veterans Hospital in Tulsa which will be the first hospital to be built under the Communities Helping Invest through Property and Improvements Needed for Veterans Act of 2016.
Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive care to inpatient and outpatient Veterans throughout the endoscopic continuum, including pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure physician support, and post-procedure recovery. Ability to conduct physical and psychosocial assessments. Ability to educate patients and families; monitors and documents patient responses; recognizes changes in condition and initiates appropriate emergency interventions.
Demonstrate ability to prepare, maintain, clean, test, and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and procedure rooms, including video endoscopes, APC systems, and emergency equipment. Assists with specimen collection and handling. Supports advanced procedures such as bronchoscopy, dilation, banding, injections, and tattooing.
Ability to manage patients receiving moderate sedation or monitored anesthesia care through continuous physiologic monitoring, airway management, suctioning, and aspiration prevention. Ability to adapt to daily scheduling changes. All other duties as assigned.
