The Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System is hiring a Management & Program Analyst to provide executive level management of administrative support for Rural Health and Native American Veterans. This is a high-profile position with regular interaction with high-ranking government officials, members of Congress, Tribal officials, a variety of technical and professional organizations, and VA Central Office and field leaders.
As the Program & Management Analyst for Rural Health and Native American Veterans you will be responsible for high level projects that will require project management skills to ensure the design, implementation, and measurement of major Native American outreach activities. You will function as the focal point of contact for development and evaluation of policy and procedures relating to health care delivery, operations, and oversight activities, and as liaison to the Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal, and other federal/community agencies on behalf of Native American Veterans.Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Serving as the Native American Services Outreach Coordinator and primary point of contact in developing and administering the planning, design, execution, compliance, and monitoring of comprehensive programs of outreach to reservations and on-station services for Native American Veterans. Providing administrative oversight to any Outreach Team members, establishing the goals and objectives to be achieved by the team. Ensuring facility compliance with statutory, regulatory, and administrative guidelines for the Native American Service Program. Functioning as a technical expert in matters pertaining to Native American cultures, healthcare, government, and IHS mission and services. Developing and implementing facility programs and projects related to Native American affairs, and analyzing programs for program effectiveness. Establishing long-range plans, developing budget, and identifying needs to carry out the programs. Serving as a member of the EEO Advisory Committee. Conducting management studies of organizational entities with critical problems. Conducting and integrating cyclical management studies and conducting studies in connection with systematic internal reviews and management briefings to formulate recommendations that result in greater efficiency and economy of operations. Researching and/or analyzing problems, issues, or program requirements and providing expert analysis and advice on complex process issues. Providing advice, direction, and guidance in areas of the health care system including planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, controlling, and education to improve medical administrative, and support operations of the facility to enhance the accomplishment of patient care and to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and VA standards. Participating in multiple sub-projects, ongoing analyses, investigations, and initiatives that have high priority for the future success in meeting facility objectives. Assisting in the development of proposed management programs on a service, inter-service, medical center, or VISN-wide basis.
