The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Deputy Director of the Safety Directorate at Air Education and Training Command (AETC), sharing with the director the full scope of responsibility for managing the activities of the directorate.
Represents the director officially, and when acting for the director, possesses the same authority and prerogatives.
Key Responsibilities
Serves as the "alter ego" for the Director of the Safety Directorate at AETC, planning, organizing, and managing the activities of the directorate. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the Safety Directorate with a variety of command and functional area organizations.
Provides technical and policy expertise on Flight Safety, Space Safety, Weapons Safety, Nuclear Surety, Occupational Safety, and other Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) programs Exercises MAJCOM responsibility for mishap response and investigation in all areas required by Air Force regulations and requirements for which the command is responsible.
This position is with Air Education and Training Command, Department of the Air Force.
