Job Summary

You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager with the National Park Service. For a more detailed list of assignments and duty stations, please the "Duties" section below. Eight positions are currently available in the following locations: National Park Service Intermountain Region Zone 4 - duty location Torry, Utah; Bryce Canyon, Utah; OR Moab, Utah National Park Service Intermountain Region Zone 5 - duty location La Junta, CO National Park Service Intermountain Region Zone 6 - duty location Camp Verde, AZ; Petrified Forest National Park, AZ; Roosevelt, AZ; OR Flagstaff, AZ National Park Service Intermountain Region Zone 8 - duty location Pecos, NM National Park Service Intermountain Region Zone 9 - duty location Oklahoma City, OK National Park Service Midwest Region - duty location Chicago, IL; St.

Louis, MO; OR Omaha, NE Grand Teton National Park - duty location Moose, WY Yellowstone National Park - duty location Yellowstone Park, WY Some positions are represented by a bargaining unit, but not all are. Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the subject matter expert and principal advisor responsible for planning, developing, directing and coordinating a safety and occupational health program for a park or group of parks.

Evaluates, compiles and analyzes behavioral, work environment, and accident statistical data, and prepares charts, tables and reports to communicate this information to management, staff, and others. Coordinates and oversees the development of safety education and training material and conducts safety training programs for managers, supervisors, staff, and park concessionaires.

Coordinates and/or conducts annual inspections and ensures that programs are current and compatible with Occupational Safety and Health Program and public Risk Management Programs, park and region safety plans, and bureau and agency policies. Provides guidance to and/or leads teams in investigating lost time incidents to help idetify chain of events, root causes, corrective actions, recommendations for improvement and follow-up to ensure corrective action has been taken.
