This position is located in the Division of Quality Management at the Fort Yuma Service Unit, in Winterhaven, California. The incumbent will serve as the Chief of Environmental Health and Safety. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Plans and implements a comprehensive program for environmental management, safety and occupational health management, emergency management and security management at a 75,000+ square foot Ambulatory Health Center. The area of responsibility includes one ambulatory healthcare clinic.
Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating and managing a comprehensive environmental health and safety program designed to furnish quality health care to patients and to protect health care providers, research staff, and visitors from harm. Develops and manages a safety management and industrial hygiene program for employees, patients and visitors within the free standing ambulatory Health Clinic.
Directs the hazardous materials and wastes management program, and direction and guidance for infectious and other special wastes management. Directs, implements, and evaluates the ambulatory center/clinic emergency response program for internal and external disasters.
