This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Enforcement Programs (DEP), in the Office of General Industry and Agriculture Enforcement (OGIA), located in Washington, DC. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above.
Duties for the Safety and Occupational Health Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following: Serving as technical advisor to the National office, field staff, other Federal Agencies and public. Recommending new policy or policy revisions based on research and analysis of occupational safety and health and industrial hygiene in federal agencies.
Representing OSHA on national level task forces and committees involving the study and control of health and safety as well as occupational health hazards or environmental factors that affect federal employee health and safety. Participating in the preparation of Annual Reports submitted by the Secretary of Labor to the President of the United States. Identifying and responding to occupational health needs and concerns of internal and external stakeholders.
Preparing and conducting training seminars or other explanatory sessions on occupational health.
