Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-0318-7/8, Secretary (OA) located in the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Glen Burnie, MD.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a Secretary (OA), GS-0318-07 and be responsible for providing a wide range of secretarial and administrative support to the Surface Forces Logistics Center Command Cadre, including coordinating schedules and meetings, preparing correspondence, maintaining records, and managing office communications. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Manages calendars, schedules appointments, and coordinates meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements. Prepares, reviews, and processes correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other administrative documents. Screens telephone calls and visitors, responds to inquiries, and routes requests to appropriate personnel. Maintains office records, tracks correspondence and action items, and ensures timely responses.

Provides administrative guidance to staff and assisting with timekeeping, office supplies, and equipment coordination. You will serve as a Secretary (OA), GS-0318-08 and be responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Surface Forces Logistics Center Command Cadre, independently coordinating office operations, managing executive schedules, preparing correspondence, and ensuring timely completion of administrative actions.

Serves as a principal point of contact for administrative matters and provides procedural guidance to staff to facilitate efficient office operations. Typical work assignments include: Independently manages executive calendars, schedules meetings, and coordinates conferences and travel arrangements. Prepares, reviews, and processes correspondence, reports, and administrative documents for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

Screens inquiries and correspondence, determines appropriate actions and coordinates responses with internal and external personnel Maintains administrative records, monitors suspense items, and follows up to ensure timely completion of assignments. Provides guidance on administrative policies and procedures and coordinates timekeeping, office resources and other administrative functions.

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
