Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Operations Support, CBP Watch, Communications Center Division, located in Orlando, Florida. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

The National Law Enforcement Communications Center (NLECC) in Orlando, FL is a critical point of contact for the law enforcement community on matters concerning the protection of our nation's borders and support law enforcement operations and investigations. Supporting Customs and Border Protection and other federal agencies enforcement units during land, air and marine pursuit and interceptions.

This position starts at a salary of $61,722.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $97,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10). Major Duties: Independently coordinating needed assistance and dispensing requested law enforcement data in real-time by utilizing radios, telephones and other technological communications devices; Monitoring and operating the Key Management Facility (KMF) and other Over-the-Air Rekey (OTAR) network equipment for the performance of basic subscriber configuration in the KMF database, rekeying and other basic functions required in support of the OTAR program; Analyzing, evaluating, and monitoring identified or potential problem areas and providing recommendations regarding law enforcement activity and overall system performance; Using report generators and other means to extract applicable data from national, regional and local law enforcement information systems.
