This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a Security Guard you will be responsible for performing security guard duties on the HINU campus. NOTE: Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment.
As a Security Guard, GS-0085-5, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Perform foot and vehicle patrol, inspections, monitoring security of an area, entrance, or building. Coordinate information and responses to ensure consistency and conformance with program policies. Explain or provide guidance on laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures to management, personnel, or clients. Respond to emergencies and provides first aid if necessary. Complete forms, documents, or routine reports. NOTE: Position is also being advertised under merit promotion announcement number BIE-13035572-26-DB MP.
