This position is located in Maynard, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience in: Constructing, maintaining, and securing fixed, mobile, or restricted-access facilities. Reviewing, interpreting and applying complex security policies, directives, or standards to protect sensitive facilities, classified information, proprietary data, or physical assets. Also leading inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and corrective actions.
What will I do in this position if hired? This position is in the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Response Division, Logistics Branch, MERS Section, Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) Detachments. The detachments provide mobile telecommunications, operations, logistical, and information processing support to Federal response personnel at special events and emergency/disaster field operations.
Typical assignments include: Developing, implementing, and managing the detachment's security programs: information, personnel, security education and training, operations, physical, access control, anti-terrorism, and alarm and video systems security.
Developing, writing, and implementing the plans, procedures, detachment policies, and instructions necessary to ensure applicable protection of personnel, information, equipment, and operations from sabotage, espionage, terrorism, threats, and theft. Establishing a comprehensive security program for the Disaster Field Office, satellite locations, and special events when deployed as Security Manager.
Conducting security surveys, risk assessments, and investigations as required. Establishing liaisons, coordinating activities, threat information, and any applicable security support with Federal/State/local law enforcement organizations, the Federal/State security community, and private security counterparts What else do I need to know? Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
