This vacancy is for a GS-0080-12, Security Specialist (Port) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SECTOR UPPER MISS CONTINGENCY PLANNING and FORCE RDNS STF in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri.
You will serve as a/an Security Specialist (Port) and be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of Executive Order 10173, as amended, the Ports and Waterways Safety Act of 1972, as amended, Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) of 2002, Security and Accountability of Every Port (SAFE Port) Act of 2006, and other Coast Guard maritime security enabling authorities at the Sector level. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Serves as Executive Secretary to the COTP's (Captain of the Port) AMSC; maintaining current designation letters, publishing meeting agendas, recording meeting minutes, and maintaining current editions of the Area Maritime Security Plan (AMSP) Coordinates, supervises and performs periodic validation of port-wide Area Maritime Security Assessments that comply with the requirements Coordinates a wide variety of sensitive and complex tasks encompassing the entire spectrum of maritime and port security Engages with industry stakeholders and other government agencies to ensure maritime security awareness, that required maritime security measures are understood and met, and that stakeholders' concerns are being addressed Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Requests: If you believe you have a disability (i.e., physical or mental), covered by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended that would interfere with completing the USA Hire Competency Based Assessments, you will be granted the opportunity to request a RA in your online application.
