The MHICM Program is a highly specialized treatment modality where an interdisciplinary team provides community based interventions to veterans with serious mental illness who need extra support to live successfully in the community. At least 25% of the incumbent' s workload duties will be performed at the exercising initiative and independent judgement in day to day activities. Supervision/consultation is of an administrative and professional nature with the assigned Mental Health Supervisor providing guidelines as to the general policy and direction of the programs. The incumbent initiates consultation with the Mental Health Supervisor and other management or administrative resources with Loma Linda VA Healthcare System as needed. Supervisors and incumbent may consult with the Chief of Social Work and Supervisory Social Workers regarding Social Work professional practice. Professional alignment and oversight will be provided by the Chief of Social Work. With unusual and/or complex administrative and clinical problems, the incumbent initiates consultation with the Mental Health Supervisor and other authoritative resources at the Medical Center including the Chief of Social Work. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be willing to transport veterans when indicated. Other duties as assigned.
