The primary purpose of this position, WG-3806-11, SHEET METAL MECHANIC, is to develop templates for, or lay out, construct, assemble, and install unconventional, one-of-a-kind missile sheet metal items, systems, or apparatus for a one-time project or in support of experimental or testing activities
Plan and lay out work with a minimum of accompanying information, to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, and install unconventional, one-of-a-kind sheet metal items for a one-time project, or in support of experimental or testing activities. Modify frame segments, such as metal structural members and reinforcements. Use and maintain tools. Use basic hand and power tools such as hammers, chisels, band snips, band, and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, brakes, and stakes, and adapt them to special use for the specific project. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
