Job Summary

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as section supervisor over employees engaged in condition evaluation, test, repair, modification and overhaul of aircraft structural assemblies, components, and parts. Employees are engaged in identification, removal and prevention of corrosion on assigned/authorized aircraft, and ground support equipment.

Additionally, other employees are required to inspect machines, weld, repair aircraft parts and components, and to design and manufacture support equipment used in all types of aircraft maintenance. Provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks herein. Duties: 1. Performs work planning responsibilities. 2. Performs work direction responsibilities. 3. Performs administrative responsibilities. 4.
