This position will assist the maintenance mechanic leader (sign maker) and will develop skills and knowledge of sign making duties including both sign maintenance and sign manufacturing. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Seasonal Staffing Office-Southeast Region is March - November, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: March - April 2027. Open to the first 100 applicants.
Key Responsibilities
Some of Sign Painter Duties include but are not limited to: Utilize computer software programs to design and construct traffic control, warning, regulatory, informational, and directional signs. Fabrication of wooden and aluminum signs including cutting, shaping, layout and design, and painting. Apply reflective sheeting to wood and aluminum sign blanks. Perfrom maintenance and replacement of various types of signs in the field.
