Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide compassionate, recovery-focused care to Veterans and their families, helping them overcome substance use and mental health challenges.
Key Duties: Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance abuse assessments for Veterans and their families, developing individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches. Deliver a broad range of therapeutic interventions-including individual, group, family, and educational therapies-addressing substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Provide crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and both short- and long-term counseling for Veterans with complex needs. Collaborate with clinicians, community agencies, and stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals, acting as a liaison and resource for Veterans and their families.
Participate in admission and screening processes, ongoing assessment of patient progress, and development of discharge plans, utilizing Measurement Based Care principles. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in treatment team meetings, and contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. Offer outreach, education, and psychoeducational interventions to enhance Veterans' coping skills and social functioning.
Supervise and mentor graduate social work trainees, and provide educational presentations to staff and community partners. Uphold the highest standards of patient privacy, ethical practice, and customer service, adapting care to meet the age, developmental, and cultural needs of a diverse Veteran population. Engage in infection control, health and safety practices, and maintain a safe environment for patient care.
Work Schedule: While the administrative tour for this position is generally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, the nature of the role may require being available for emergent situations on evenings and weekends.
