This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU The Clinical Social Worker (MSW) assigned within the Veterans Addiction Recovery Center assumes responsibility for the provision of Psychosocial Assessment and Intervention to veterans who are treated for substance use/addictive disorders. Duties will be performed at the Northeast Ohio Veteran Administration Healthcare System, Wade Park Campus. The Social Worker duties include, but are not limited to: The social worker will serve as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Services include psychosocial and diagnostic assessment, group and individual therapy. Provide evidenced based treatment utilized for the treatment of addictive disorders such as crisis intervention, addiction counseling, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, patient psychoeducation, supportive therapy, family therapy, case management, discharge planning, knowledge of aftercare treatment resources, etc. Individuals shall be involved with and participating in formulating and implementing their own rehabilitation efforts insofar as they are capable. In-service training sessions may also be conducted for medical center staff to improve the level of knowledge and understanding of substance abuse, its impact on families and significant others, treatment and aftercare services. The incumbent advises significant others about community rehabilitation resources available to them (e.g. Al- Anon) as well as informing aftercare facilities about VA programs and resources.
