This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
The social worker in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is responsible for providing group and individual psychotherapy as well as intake assessments for Veterans as part of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Team. This position is located at the Springfield CBOC of the Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System. Duties include but are not limited to: Providing outpatient treatment to enhance and maintain community adjustment and maximize veteran's highest level of psychosocial functioning. Provides screening, triage, and brief treatment of patients not formally enrolled in treatment Identifying high-risk patients and provides case management services to veterans with acute and chronic substance use disorders. Assisting with/providing program evaluation and monitoring activities with a focus on Quality Improvement opportunities and Risk Management within the program, Health Service Line, and Organization. Demonstrates the ability to design changes based on empirical findings.
