Job Summary

This position will be located in the Social Work Service division within the Dayton VA Medical Center. Responsibilities include assessment of psychosocial problems and will help the patient and family to understand the contributing factors to the problem(s), discussing with them the pros and cons of possible short-term and long-term solutions.

VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include: Provides a range of direct patient care services, to include individual and group psychotherapy, psychoeducation, assessment and diagnosis, psychoeducation, family/couples therapy, and case management. Engages in psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, establishes therapeutic rapport, administers therapeutic interventions, and ensures continuity of patient care. Establishes a proactive, resourceful approach to discharge planning. This includes initiating, coordination, and expediting the successful discharge of Veteran clients. Participates and contributes to a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide comprehensive services. Effectively communicates with and utilizes VA network and community agencies to facilitate treatment, discharge planning, and continuity of care, this includes engaging in referrals to VA and community agencies and government programs as needed. Demonstrates regular contact and collaboration with a variety of VA and community agencies and resources in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care, and/or problem resolution. Participates effectively in team meetings, unit huddles, treatment planning conferences, and other teams and meetings as assigned. Documents in EHR in accordance with VHA Directive and policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized. Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not Available.
