This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Supports daily operations of the Caregiver Support Program, ensuring compliance and collaboration with VA and local facility initiatives. Works closely with the CSP team to provide comprehensive caregiver support. Develops and facilitates caregiver support groups and educational programs, distributing materials from VA and other organizations.
Conducts direct assessments of caregiver stress and develops clinical interventions, including regular home visits for those in the PCAFC program. Responds to hotline calls, general inquiries, and assists with program tasks. Collaborates across medical center teams on caregiver issues, creating educational tools, programs, and training tailored to caregiver needs.
Provides education and in-service training to staff, Veterans, families, and caregivers, offering ongoing consultation on caregiver support. Builds positive relationships with Veterans, caregivers, government agencies, and NGOs through skilled communication. Facilitates referrals to VA services, community resources, and assists with Veteran admissions to other VA programs when appropriate.
Serves as a liaison, helping caregivers and families navigate complex systems and stay informed on relevant legislation. Participates in community caregiver support activities and committees at the state and local levels, promoting caregiver recognition. Assists with coordination of the National Family Caregivers Month in November, including event planning, outreach, and recognition activities.
Maintains data systems to evaluate program effectiveness, collects and analyzes data for reports. Supports establishing caregiver protocols that address the unique needs of caregivers caring for our youngest returning Veterans. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
