This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Operating Officer in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as the Space Management Specialist who is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all phases of the facilities program dealing with space, property, safety, motor vehicles including the development of policies, and programs designed to increase the effectiveness of SBA's operations.
As a/an Space Management Specialist at theGS- 0301-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: Planning, developing, and managing office space renovation, relocation, and reconfiguration projects for multiple facilities or organizational components. Conducting space utilization analyses, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses to develop recommendations that improve operational efficiency and optimize workspace. Interpreting and applying federal regulations, policies, and industry standards related to space management, real property, facilities management, and workplace design. Managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, including developing schedules, monitoring budgets, coordinating contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. Providing technical guidance and recommenations to management on space allocation, workplace planning, furniture systems, and facilities-related initiatives.
