This field is responsible for all aspects of the agency's financial health, from accounting and finance to the entire budget process. While your specific placement will be determined by mission needs, this internship will provide you with exposure to the critical functions that underpin the agency's financial program. Potential roles include: - Accountant: Performs accounting and financial processes aligned with federal standards.
This role focuses on recording and reporting financial activity, ensuring the quality and accuracy of financial statements, and working directly with auditing teams. - Financial Analyst: Researches a wide range of financial issues and evaluates operating statements to determine financial soundness and efficiency. This role also processes financial transactions, such as pay and travel entitlements and contractor invoices.
- Budget Analyst: Works within all phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. This role is responsible for formulating, analyzing, and executing the agency's financial program and making recommendations on budget requests.
