This position is located within the Office of Finance (OF), Office of the Commissioner (OC), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The purpose of this position is to serve as supervisor responsible for providing technical and administrative guidance and advice in the day-to-day management of accounting/finance systems and procedures relating to such areas as Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or Financial Reporting and Analysis.
Typical duties include: Developing performance standards for the subordinates; evaluates work performance of subordinates throughout the performance rating cycle; and issues ratings commensurate with achievement of performance goals. Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, decisions, and rulings to accounting systems and procedures to ensure conformity and proper application.
Representing the agency in the field of accountancy and fiscal relationships with other Government agencies and with private interests, which involves resolving issues related to the development of new policies, plans and procedures on an agency or government-wide basis. Coordinating the implementation of policies, goals, instructions, and internal procedures insuring sufficient internal controls for the integrity of the accounting/finance systems.
This position starts at a salary of $107,428.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $139,658.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $139,658 (GS-13 Step 10).
