The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Deployments and Distribution Flight, LGRDA/Air Transportation Function.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 66 LRS/LGRDA, ensuring that Small Air Terminal complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Represents 66 LRS/LGRDAS Small Air Terminal with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with flight crews and other aircrew members, distinguished visitors, FAA representatives, base visitors, air traffic control, safety, security, communications, civil engineering and the base protocol office.
Meets and guides aircraft across active runways to the designated parking area, directs aircraft into parking position, secures aircraft by chocking wheels, attaching ground wires, and installing lock pins and engine covers.
Sets up and operates a variety of powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment (AGE), such as several types of maintenance stands, gas turbine and diesel driven generators, gas turbine compressors, exterior lighting equipment and ground heater equipment and vehicles and material handling equipment (MHE), such as 4K, 10K forklift, 25K Halvorsen Loader, staircase truck, baggage conveyer and tow vehicles w/pintle hooks.
