Job Summary

This position is located at Treasury Office of the Inspector General, Revenue and Manufacturing Directorate. As a Supervisory Auditor (Performance), you will serve as a Director of Performance Audit, responsible for supervising a staff of auditors, including GS-14 Audit Managers and lower-graded non-supervisory staff.

Key Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Auditor (Performance), you will: Direct subordinates in ensuring assigned audits conform with applicable professional standards. Working with the subordinate Audit Managers, the Director develops the overall audit approach, including objectives, testing methodologies, and milestone dates. Review and approve audit plans prepared by subordinates or reviewed by the Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), in the event an audit is contracted.

Oversee progress of assigned audits and provide guidance; conduct and/or participate in briefings with OA and auditee management, Treasury officials, contractors, other OlGs, and other agencies and organizations, as needed to discuss issues, status of audits, and audit results. Review audit reports and supporting documentation prepared by subordinates or contractors for conformance with applicable professional standards, and OIG policy.

Requirements & Education

Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements A. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge.

The applicant's background must also include one of the following: 1. A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or 2. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
