The USAO for the Eastern District of Kentucky has a staff of approximately 43 attorneys and 40 support personnel. The main office is in Lexington, KY with staffed branch offices in Ft. Mitchell and London, Kentucky. Unstaffed offices are in Ashland and Frankfort, Kentucky. The United States Attorney's Office seeks to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the enforcement of federal laws and the representation of the United States.

The selected candidate will provide supervision to clerical, administrative, and contracting/procurement positions. Typical work assignments will include: Supervisory Responsibilities: Plans, directs, and evaluates administrative and business management programs. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities through selective consideration of the difficulty of the work, and the capabilities of the employees. Setting priorities and deadlines.

Reviews, accepts, modifies, or rejects the work performed; provides policy and regulatory interpretations/guidance. Approving leave requests. Institutes actions to ensure on-the-job safety and health of employees; and recommends and/or takes appropriate personnel action (i.e., reassignment, change in classification, selection, training, leave and overtime administration, promotion, award, disciplinary actions). Hears and resolves grievances.

Incumbent also exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other offices, advises management within his/her areas of responsibility. Interviewing and recommending selections for positions. Administrative Program Management: Coordinates and administers a variety of administrative management functions in support of operations and mission requirements.

Ensures efficient office operations, resource management, and compliance with agency policies and procedures. Administers and manages the district's property and materials control program of equipment, furniture, forms, and supplies. Coordinates with management officials and program staff to plan and implement administrative initiatives that support strategic and operational objectives. Develop and implement procedures to improve administrative workflow and office efficiency.

Procurement and Acquisition Coordination and Oversight: Provides procurement and acquisition support and oversight for organizational requirements. Coordinates procurement actions involving supplies, services, equipment, training, and support requirements in accordance with applicable federal acquisition regulations, agency policies, and procurement procedures.

Provides advice and assistance to USAO managers and all others in the district with delegated procurement authority in the development of procurement requests and related supporting documentation. Prepare procurement plans and necessary justifications and/or determinations and findings. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
